My Journey To Raindrop Facilitator
Kelley Anne Truax
Healing is a personal journey, one I tried to achieve for far too many years on my own. Always looking for that book or course that was going to fix me. Fixing denotes that something is wrong with you. I won't use that term anymore. I wasn't broken and neither are you, but I needed to find out the reasons why I always felt that my body and emotions weren't really ever on the same page as my thoughts and desires. I read so many self-help books trying to gain clarity on the why and how I came to live daily with anxiety, emotional numbing, and then panic attacks. I was in my 50's before I realized it would be okay to reach out for help and found the courage to do so.
I started therapy to start resolving long-held negative beliefs about myself. I found acupuncture amazingly relaxing but it was also the first time I was to experience an emotional release from a treatment. Acupuncture brought forward memories from the past and now I would start to gain insight. Fast forward a year or so later and I have myself a job and I'm feeling so much better until my husband's health is in crisis. I have to now work from home and I am so thankful to the owner that he made that available to me. Another journey of healing to experience only this time it's Don's journey, but I am the one being relied upon to figure out the best courses of treatment, the daily watching over for symptoms, the dispensing of all the medications (up to almost 30 a day at one point), keeping track of all the appointments and paperwork, and keeping his spirits up so he wants to continue with us. We have our children and families and friends for amazing and loving support, however, I am still the one holding onto the ship as it is thrashing about in this very dark, unknown to me sea. I feel so inexperienced and unprepared for what I'm being asked to do. This daily medical swim for caregivers is not for the faint of heart, that I do know. I have to have clear thinking on very little sleep. The nights could be filled with severe leg cramps, dialysis, not being able to breathe due to congestive heart failure, or sugar lows. Watch the heart rate, the weight, the colour of the skin, the eyes, the oxygen level, the pulse, temperature, any sores or cuts on the feet, etc. etc. etc! Even trying to keep up with the changing diet requirements for diabetes vs kidney disease vs dialysis vs post kidney transplant. Each one was different. It was a lot to take in in a very short time as Don didn't want to follow the outlined medical rules the patient is apparently supposed to follow. For example, when he was told he'd have to have dialysis within two years his body chose to require that within 2 months. Always in a rush that guy.
What kept me going, kept me sane, kept me in the game throughout those 4 years? Young Living Essential Oils. Introduced to me from my daughter Jesslyn in 2018, they were a game changer and a life saver. I first started using a blend I developed after researching essential oils best for helping alleviate Don's nightly leg cramps. Ylang Ylang, Geranium (helps regenerate nerves), Cypress (for muscle cramps), Eucalyptus (this was for his respiratory system), Marjoram (soothing and great for the neuralgia (intense nerve pain) and Lavender in a coconut oil base applied before bed. They did the trick! I applied Joy every single day to my own feet, wrists and heart area to keep my spirits and energy up. Kept it in my pocket and my purse and applied it regularly especially during hospital visits and stays. We changed our home environment. Gone were any toxins of any kind and they were and always will be replaced with the Thieves line of household products including cleaners and personal care items.
With the amazing results I was seeing with these essential oils my yearning to know everything about them skyrocketed. I was reading everything I could about each oil and was very curious about the technique called Raindrop. I read how to do it in my Young Living guidebook and decided to give Don my first Raindrop. He became upset during it, but didn't know why and I didn't know enough about it as yet to totally understand why either, but I knew an emotional release was a possibility during a Raindrop. I heard about a class being offered up in Peterborough to learn more with some hands-on instruction so I attended that. I loved it! It resonated with me and I decided that I wanted to get trained in this healing modality. It was November of 2019 that I took the 4-day intensive in Cobourg with the brilliant practitioner and teacher Jasmine Phong. I was fully prepared and excited to start my certification requirements when Covid hit. With all of my husband's health issues and very low immunity we felt it best to completely isolate so I could no longer get my practicums done within the allotted timeframe but I kept learning as much as I could online, watched the provided DVD's and read the required books over and over again, I read the Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Easy from front to back twice. I became so clear that I wanted to provide this healing modality to others. I needed to continue on and retake the 4 day intensive which I did in November 2022 and I felt really glad that I actually did do the course twice as there is a great deal of information given and it really congealed and pulled it all together for me the second time.
During this second intensive, my name was pulled to facilitate the emotional release raindrop for one of the other course participants. It was a magical experience to say the least and myself and my assistants were able to facilitate an emotional release for her. A grief that was long-standing was released and clarity of it all was received into her heart and mind. It was something I will never forget. After this emotional release raindrop, this lovely woman thanked me and said she initially hoped it would be me that would facilitate it. An amazing experience that fueled my desire to fully certify as a Raindrop Technique Specialist.
In 2022 I also studied Raindrop Harmonics with Jasmine Phong after seeing her perform this type of Raindrop in the intensive. These modalities are based on the basic Raindrop technique with tuning forks, light tools and gem tips adding even more to the beauty and potential for healing through dialing in more specifically to the varied body parts and systems.
Besides loving and raising my children, nothing has ever given me the sense of fulfillment that facilitating raindrops for clients does. It's important work that in the very least offers love and compassion while managing our wellness journey. But oh my, there truly is so much more!
